Hi @JimmieRogers427,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Officejet Pro 8200e scanner has been working fine but is now showing as offline, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and get it back online.
- Check Connections: Ensure that all cables connecting the scanner to your computer or network are securely plugged in. Also, make sure that the scanner is powered on.
- Restart Devices: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Try restarting both your computer and the scanner.
- Check Network Connection: If your scanner is connected to your network, verify that your network connection is working properly. You can do this by trying to access the internet from your computer or other devices on the same network.
- Update Drivers: Make sure that you have the latest drivers installed for your scanner. You can usually download them from the HP website or use HP's software update tool.
- Restart Print Spooler Service: If you're using Windows, try restarting the Print Spooler service. You can do this by opening the Run dialog (Windows key + R), typing "services.msc", finding the Print Spooler service in the list, right-clicking it, and selecting "Restart".
- Check for Error Messages: If there are any error messages displayed on the scanner's control panel or on your computer, take note of them. They can provide valuable information about what might be causing the issue.
- Reset the Scanner: As a last resort, you can try resetting the scanner to its factory settings. Refer to the user manual or HP's support website for instructions on how to do this.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
