seeking alternative to HP Smart for my HP OfficeJet 4652

I am seeking an alternative to HP Smart on Windows 11 for my HP OfficeJet 4652.

I am not comfortable with having to login in order to scan a document.  I don't want my scanned documents out there in the 'cloud'.  Under Windows 10 we had a great driver from HP that did not require me to be online.

Is there an alternative driver out there?

The Full Feature Software / full driver software is available for Windows 11.

For example,

If you are using a computer on which is running a supported version of Windows,

Open Category Software & Drivers

If needful, change the Operating System / version

Important Note

In mid-2022, HP removed he embedded OCR software from the installation packages for many printers.

No, we don't know why - perhaps licensing or compatibility. ?

The only solution, should you need the embedded OCR that was available before the change, is to find an installation package dated before the change.  No, HP does not provide archives of old software.  Check backups that you might have dated before May 2022.

If you like... Check the 'net -- do remember that stuff you download from "out in the wild" should be carefully checked before dropping it into your Windows file system.

What else?

Go out and find, purchase, obtain OCR software to use with your printer.

NOTES:  

HP Scan is not installed if the printer does not support Scan.

The Printer Assistant is not installed if the type of full driver software does not support it.  If the printer model includes built-in Fax hardware, the software supports the setup and use of the Fax driver. No Sign-in required.
