Hello Dmflores1122,

Thank you for posting your concern,

Setting Up HP LaserJet 1320 with a Chromebook

To set up your HP LaserJet 1320 printer with a Chromebook, you can follow these steps:

  1. Connect Your Printer:

    • Ensure your HP LaserJet 1320 is powered on and connected to the same network as your Chromebook.
  2. Use Google Cloud Print (if possible):

    • The HP LaserJet 1320 isn't natively compatible with ChromeOS as there are no specific drivers. However, the printer can be configured using Google Cloud Print if available. Note that Google Cloud Print was deprecated in December 2020, but some network environments might still have alternatives or similar services.
  3. Use HP Print for Chrome:

    • Add the HP Print for Chrome extension from the Chrome Web Store to your Chromebook. This extension allows Chromebooks to print to a variety of HP printers without needing specific drivers.
    • Once installed, you can directly send print jobs from your Chromebook to the printer.
  4. Check CUPS Printing Support:

    • ChromeOS supports Common UNIX Printing System (CUPS) pointing to network IPP Addresses.
    • On your Chromebook, go to Settings > Advanced > Printing and set up the printer using its IP address if it's connected on a network.
  5. Use an USB Connection (if applicable):

    • Some Chromebooks support USB printing. Connect your printer via USB and then navigate to the printer setup on the Chromebook.
  6. HP Smart App:

    • While primarily focused on newer models, occasionally, newer HP mobile print apps, such as HP Smart, might offer limited support for older models with certain features.
  7. Consult HP Support for Additional Assistance:

    • If necessary, visit the HP Customer Support site for further guidance specific to your printer model's connectivity.

By using these steps, you should be able to connect your HP LaserJet 1320 to your Chromebook for printing tasks.
