I got a new printer a Deskjet 2700e all-in-one series. Tried setting it up using my mobile phone but kept getting the message unable to register printer to your account. I spoke to someone at HP help who said it was best to do it on a laptop or desk computer. Tried that and now I keep getting the message printer is connected to your network but model is unsupported by HP smart. Can't get hold of anybody at HP, and other than throwing the whole lot out the window I don't know what to do now

Hi @Redfern45,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble setting up your Deskjet 2700e printer. Let's try to troubleshoot the issue step by step.
- Check Compatibility: Ensure that your printer model is indeed supported by the HP Smart app. Visit the official HP website or check the app's compatibility list to confirm that your Deskjet 2700e is supported.
- Update HP Smart App: Make sure that you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed on your mobile phone. Outdated versions may not support newer printer models. You can update the app through your device's app store (Google Play Store for Android or the App Store for iOS).
- Connectivity: Verify that your printer is correctly connected to your Wi-Fi network. Ensure that both your mobile phone and the printer are on the same network. You might need to go through the printer's setup process again to ensure a proper connection.
- Check Network Settings: Ensure that your Wi-Fi network is operating correctly, and there are no issues with the network configuration. If possible, try connecting the printer to a different Wi-Fi network to see if the issue persists.
- Restart Devices: Turn off both your mobile phone and the printer. Wait for a few minutes, then turn them back on. This can help in refreshing the network connections.
- Factory Reset the Printer: As a last resort, you may consider performing a factory reset on your printer. Keep in mind that this will erase any custom settings you have configured. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
Remember that technology can be frustrating, but with patience and persistence, most issues can be resolved.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
