Hi @Mypainter,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Tango printer needs to be connected to a new Wi-Fi network and you don't have easy access to the router, you can place the printer back into Wi-Fi Setup Mode and reconnect it using the HP app.

First, I recommend removing the printer from the HP app (if it is still listed) and then reinstalling or signing back into the HP app to start a fresh setup.

To restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode on the printer:

  1. On the back of the printer, locate the Wi-Fi button.
  2. Press and hold the Wi-Fi button for 5 seconds.
Example of pressing the Wireless button on the back of the printer for five seconds
  3. Release the button and wait for the Status light to pulse blue.

This indicates that the printer is now in Wi-Fi Setup Mode and ready to be configured.

Within two hours, open the HP app on your computer or mobile device and:

  1. Select Add Printer.
  2. Allow the app to search for available printers.
  3. Select your HP Tango printer.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to the new Wi-Fi network and complete the setup.

A couple of questions:

  • Are you able to access the new Wi-Fi network name and password?
  • Is the HP app installed on the device you're using for setup?
  • Do you receive any error messages when attempting to reconnect the printer?

Please let us know what happens after placing the printer in Wi-Fi Setup Mode, and we'll be happy to help further.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
