How to setup an HP Officejet 6500A

Unbox and prepare the printer
Remove all packaging materials, tapes, and protective covers from inside and outside the printer.
Connect the power cable and turn the printer on.

Install ink cartridges
Open the ink access door and wait for the carriage to stop moving.
Insert the black and color cartridges into their correct slots, then close the access door.

Load paper
Pull out the input tray and load plain A4 paper with the print side facing down.
Adjust the paper guides so they rest lightly against the paper stack.

Set language, region, and date/time
Use the printer’s control panel to select your preferred language and country/region.
Set the correct date and time when prompted.

Connect the printer to Wi-Fi or USB
For wireless setup, use the printer’s control panel to select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
For USB setup, do not connect the USB cable until the software asks for it.

Install printer software on your device
Download and install HP Smart or the full-feature driver for the HP Officejet 6500A on your computer.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection and driver installation.

Align the printer and test
Print the alignment page when prompted to ensure proper print quality.
Run a test print and scan to confirm everything is working correctly.
