@Micro995, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP LaserJet MFP M438nda printer.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!

When encountering a side-by-side configuration error while scanning from an HP LaserJet MFP M438nda printer to a Windows 11 Pro PC, it usually indicates an issue with the Visual C++ libraries required by HP software. Here’s how you can resolve this issue:

  1. Update Windows: Ensure that your Windows 11 system is fully updated:

    • Go to Settings > Windows Update and install any pending updates.
  2. Repair/Install Visual C++ Libraries:

    • Sometimes, the required Visual C++ Runtime libraries might be missing or corrupted. You can download and install or repair the latest supported versions of Visual C++ Redistributable from the official Microsoft website.
  3. Reinstall HP Software:

    • Uninstall the existing HP scanning software using the Windows Control Panel or Settings.
    • Reboot your PC and then download the latest HP scanning software and drivers for your HP LaserJet MFP M438nda from the HP Support website.
    • Perform a clean installation of the software.
  4. Check for Compatibility Issues:

    • Ensure that you are using the compatible version of the software for Windows 11.
  5. Check System Files:

    • Run the System File Checker tool: Open Command Prompt as an administrator and type sfc /scannow to check and repair corrupted system files.

I hope this helps!

Take care and have an amazing day!
