I originally had a problem with my scan function on my 8740 all-in-one. I got technical assistance over the phone and the tech built a work-a-round that allowed scanning. However, that ultimately did not work and I upgraded my desktop to Windows 10.  Now, when I need to re-install the software I do not get the "Printer Assistant" which gives me all the scan options and diagnostic programs like Print & Scan Doctor, among other.  Has this important software been removed from the 8740 download,?  What else could be going on?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.  Believed you're referring to the HP FULL software - it is still available.

Can you download and install the HP FULL Solution Software for your operating system:
https://support.hp.com/sg-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-officejet-pro-8740-all-in-one-printer-...

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.
