P1606dn
Microsoft Windows 11

win 10 or win 11

P1606dn stuck on "sleep after 5 min. auto off after 4 hours" per self test page, and actual use.

Latest firmware: 20201023

just checked for latest firmware and says latest firmware installed.

Just installed latest software/driver.

Go to control panel / Devices and Printers/HP LaserJet Professional P1606dn/Customize your printer/Device settings/EcoSMART Console.

regardless of what I set it to, it still does sleep after 5 min and auto off after 4 hours, and that's what self test page shows..

can't change it at all.

firmware is not allowing me to actually change this.

EDIT  I just found that if I go to wordpad and start a text document and click print, and right click on the printer name and choose properties and go to Device Settings and change it there, it now shows up on the self test/config page.  I will report back after 24 hours and see if it has indeed not auto off'ed it.

EDIT2 - YES. The route through Devices and Printers does not work but the route through wordpad (and perhaps others) did the trick.
