HP Officejet 4500 All-in-One Printer - G510g

How do you get the GET /DevMgmt/ProductConfigDyn.xml HTTP/1.1 Host: localhost, --- to stop randomly printing?

I have read the other boards and none of the solutions work.  I see that some of them are 10 years old.  How this issue has not been fixed/addressed is beyond me.

I have tried uninstalling the printer, updating drivers, reinstalling software, trying to uncheck the print notifications box is not on my list.  I have tried everything already listed in the other boards.

I am connected by USB.  I would stich to LAN but if I do it takes me 10 minutes between print jobs.

I suggest you try the fix documented on the Brother support pages: https://help.brother-usa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/183921/

While I have not seen that particular fix posted anywhere, it also did not work.  Thank you for the reply and trying though.

             Hello Sabin55,

You need to uninstall your printer and download the latest full HP driver (from the HP site). To uninstall, you need to remove the HP software in Programs and Features. In the control panel, Devices and Printers, right click on your printer, click on delete, She may be missing, continue. Then delete all occurrences related to your printer name in Program and Programx84. Restart the PC, then plug the printer into the mains, turn it on, but leave the USB cord plugged it in on the PC side and unplug it on the printer side. Right click on the downloaded driver, property, click Unblock, ok. Start the installation with setup.exe of the new driver, by right-clicking on setup.exe, install as administrator. Connect the USB cord ONLY to the printer side, when prompted during installation. At the end of the installation, restart the PC. Everything should work now. Thanks for your feedback.

There is no driver for my printer.  There is only the diagnostic software tool.  So on install it uses the windows driver.

When my printer is not listed on the product drop down - HP site- it takes me the Microsoft page for HP Smart.  I have also tried installing that.  Problem persists.

Do you have a link to another driver?

@Sabin55,

No, no HP driver. take the Windows driver.

The procedure is the same.

Nope,

I uninstalled the printer and deleted everything.

I went to microsoft and downloaded the HP Smart.  I did a fresh install of the software.

Within 5 minutes it was auto printing it again.

Reread the original post about what the problem was.  It was printing automatically, the printer is/was working fine besides the 20 pages of paper I waste a day if I leave the printer on.

          Hello Sabin55,

In Device and Printer, right-click your printer and then Show currently printing jobs. Select the Printer tab, then uncheck Use Printer Offline from the menu. If the printer is paused, uncheck Paused Printer from the menu.
