I'm running mac OS Sequoia 15.5 and received the message, "system extension signed by HP Inc. -  incompatible with future versions of mac OS."  So, I need a solution so that I can keep using the printer in the future.

Hi @ericdh,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding System Extension Compatibility on macOS!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Update HP Software:

  • Check for any HP software updates that may include compatible system extensions for newer macOS versions.
  • Visit the HP website or HP Support to download the latest drivers and software for your printer model.

macOS Updates:

  • Keep your macOS updated to the latest version that supports HP system extensions. However, it's wise to wait for confirmation from HP regarding compatibility before updating to major new OS versions.

Use HP Smart App:

  • Consider using the HP Smart App for printing, scanning, and managing printer settings. This app is frequently updated to maintain compatibility with newer macOS versions.

Alternate Solutions:

  • Use AirPrint or HP wireless direct printing as alternative methods to manage printing tasks without relying on system extensions. These methods are generally independent of macOS system extensions.

I hope this helps.
