Installed the drivers. Attached the cables to both computers and the printer. When I try to install I get a message saying it's connecting and then nothing happens.  HELP!

Can you please post exact type of switch you are using please. A model and brand would be very useful to assist you.

No brand name. Sorry. Got it off Amazon. Made in China (like everything these days) 5Gbps

Switch is bi-directional so it can be used two in, one out   or   one in, two out. Switch itself has a button/light to select which printer it is sending info to. The light is illuminated in the right direction.

The printer is working with the original computer. Still not able to hook up the second computer. Frustrating.

If the computers are networked you are better off connecting to one computer and sharing it out.

Thanks for teh suggestion, but unfortunately networking is not an option.   We are living in an ADU while our home is being renovated. I don't have access to the landlord's network, so both computers are hardwired. I had hoped not to have to move a second printer (heavy, lots of hard to traverse stairs) but I guess I'll have to. Thanks for trying.
