Hi @PeggyV53,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are trying to connect your HP Envy 5530 printer to your new Dell Inspiron 15 laptop, you can follow these general steps:

Ensure Printer is Ready: Make sure your printer is turned on, has paper loaded, and has ink or toner cartridges installed.

Connect to Wi-Fi Network: Your HP Envy 5530 supports wireless connectivity, so you need to connect it to your Wi-Fi network. On the printer's control panel, navigate to the wireless settings or Wi-Fi setup. Follow the prompts to connect to your Wi-Fi network. You may need to enter your Wi-Fi network's password.

Install Printer Drivers on Laptop:

  • Go to the HP Support website (https://support.hp.com/).
  • Enter your printer model (HP Envy 5530) and follow the prompts to find the correct drivers for your printer.
  • Download the drivers for your Dell Inspiron 15 laptop.
  • Run the downloaded file to install the printer drivers on your laptop.

Add Printer to Laptop:

  • Go to your laptop's settings or control panel.
  • Look for "Devices" or "Printers & Scanners".
  • Click on "Add a printer or scanner" and wait for your laptop to detect the printer.
  • Once your printer is detected, select it from the list and follow any additional prompts to complete the setup.

Test Printing: After adding the printer, you can try printing a test page to ensure that the connection was successful.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
