Hello,

I use an old HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911g and do no longer need colour printing. I print in black only. Actually printing is no longer possible because one of the colour cartriges is empty. Although I set all printing options in my OS and applications to 'black/grayscale only' the printer stops printing and forces me to renow the empty cartridge.
How can I turn off colour printing permanently to avoid buying a new cartridge that I will not use?
Is it possible to install a driver of a different HP inkjet printer that prints in black only?

Thank you in advance.

No, it will not work. HP Officejet Pro 8600 if any ink cartridge is empty, the printer stops printing.

Thank you. I will close this and take care of HP's disadvantages in case buying a new printer.
