Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have two printers (HP 8620) on the same network. # 1 is connected by ethernet to the network # 2 is connected by usb cable and/or wirelessly to computer.  #1 is recognized as the network printer and has full functionality #2 printer will only print -  not scan, fax or copy from the computer it is attached. Not seen on the network.

How can I make the network see both printers so they both have full functionality.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Both printers can be on the same network. In fact both printers can installed on one or multiple computers with the FULL feature software.

The tricky part is when printing or scanning, you woyld need to select the correct printer (one will be default)

Not sure if this resource will be useful - same printer connected via wireless and USB on the smae computer. (similar situation in the sense you need to select which connectivity (instead of printer)

Hope that helps!

Thank you for your reply. I thought so. Question: Does the printer connected tot he network by ethernet have priority? Do they both have to be connected by ethernet cable? Thank you again.

Hi,

Both printers do not have to be connected via Ethernet.  It can a wireless as well or Ethernet and wireless.  It doesn't matter so long as the computers trying to printer to either printer knows which one to select and print.

Again, Computer need to have the FULL feature software installed.

The printer name can be changed so that it is easily identifiable.  Do a name change via Control Panel > View Devices and Printers > Right CLick on the printer and then change the name.

Hope that helps!
