Hi @Lauren191,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble connecting your printer to your HP+ account. Let's go through a few additional steps that might help resolve the issue.
Steps to Troubleshoot HP+ Account Connection Issues
1. Verify Printer Compatibility
- Check Compatibility: Ensure that your printer model is compatible with HP+. You can usually find this information on the HP website or in the printer’s manual.
2. Update Printer Firmware
- Update Firmware: Make sure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Firmware updates can fix bugs and improve connectivity.
- From Printer Control Panel: Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Update Firmware (or similar options based on your printer model).
- HP Smart App: Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device and check for firmware updates under Printer Settings.
3. Ensure Printer is Connected to Wi-Fi
- Check Wi-Fi Connection: Verify that your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer or mobile device.
- Printer Control Panel: Go to Network Settings or Wireless Settings and check the Wi-Fi connection status.
4. Use the HP Smart App
- Sign In: Open the HP Smart app and sign in with your HP account.
- Add Printer: If your printer is not listed, try adding it manually:
- Tap Add Printer.
- Follow the prompts to add your printer and connect it to HP+.
5. Check HP+ Account Settings
- HP Account: Ensure that your HP account is active and that you are using the correct credentials.
- Visit the HP Account website to verify and manage your account settings.
6. Reset Printer Network Settings
- Reset Network Settings: Sometimes resetting the network settings on your printer can help resolve connectivity issues.
- Printer Control Panel: Go to Settings > Network Settings > Restore Network Settings.
7. Reconfigure HP+ Setup
- Reconfigure Setup: Try removing the printer from your HP+ account and then re-adding it.
- HP Smart App: Go to the app settings, remove the printer, and then follow the setup process again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
