Download seems to go well, but at the end I have the following message;

Hi,

From the Control Panel select Uninstall a Program and uninstall any existing HP Envy 5000 Basic Device Software if a such exists.

Next, download and install the latest drivers below:

Hi ShlomiL

Many thanks for your reply, however, regrettably I got the same message as before. I ran the download, and the extraction took place, however, the same error message popped up.

I couldn't find any HP programs to uninstal, which is suprising as I did have an HP Photosmart printer that recently failed. I deleted this printer from the devices area of the control panel, and currently the ENVY is connected to my laptop by both WiFi and ethernet cable. The computer has recognised this as the printer is shown as one of the devices connected to the laptop.

Should I go back to the shop and get  the CD to download?

Hi,

Could you please add a screenshot of the EXACT error shown at the end of the installation? those details such as the installation path may help a lot to resolve a such.

Hi ShlomiL

Thanks for you continued interest in the problem. However, for some reason, when I was downloading the drivers, this evening, in preparation to take a screen shot of the error message, the download was successful. I can't think that I did anything differently, but hey presto, it worked!

I had to sort out a default setting issue on the computer, but all now seems to be working.

Many thanks once more.
