Hi @Hal60621,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To update the firmware on an HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP printer using macOS, you can follow these steps.
- Connect your printer to your Mac using a USB cable.
- Make sure your printer is turned on and ready to use.
- Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page and enter your printer model.
- Select your operating system as macOS and download the firmware update file for your printer.
- Open the downloaded file and double-click on the firmware update utility.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the firmware update process.
Note: During the firmware update process, do not turn off the printer or disconnect it from your computer. Doing so may cause permanent damage to your printer.
Once the firmware update is complete, your printer should automatically restart. You can then disconnect the USB cable from your printer and your computer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
