Hi @Rickster213,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

To change the default printer settings for an HP 5255 on macOS 10.15 (Catalina) to not print two-sided (duplex), you can follow these steps:

Open System Preferences:

  • Click on the Apple menu in the top-left corner of your screen.
  • Select "System Preferences."

Printers & Scanners:

  • In the System Preferences window, click on "Printers & Scanners."

Select Your HP 5255 Printer:

  • In the Printers & Scanners window, you'll see a list of printers on the left. Click on your HP 5255 printer to select it.

Open Printer Preferences:

  • With your printer selected, you'll see various options on the right side. Click on the "Options & Supplies" button.

Change Default Settings:

  • In the window that opens, go to the "Driver" or "General" tab (the exact name may vary depending on the printer model and driver).
  • Look for a "Two-Sided" or "Duplex" option and change it to "Off" or "Single-Sided."

Save Changes:

  • After changing the setting, click the "OK" or "Apply" button to save your changes.

Now, your HP 5255 should default to single-sided printing. The next time you print a document, it should use these settings. Keep in mind that application-specific settings may override these defaults, so ensure that your application's print settings are also set to single-sided if needed.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
