If I understand what you are asking, you want to know about shortcuts that are located on the Desktop.

In general,

Installing the full driver printer software adds the related shortcuts to the Desktop.

Printer shortcuts can only be added if the appropriate printer software or printer application are already installed in the system.

Slightly different:

After you have installed HP Smart, a shortcut to the HP Smart application can be added to the Desktop.

Start (Menu) > All Apps 

Search or Scroll down - Find, Press and Hold the HP Smart app

Drag the app to the Desktop and Release

Search or Scroll down – Right-Click on the HP Smart app > Pin to Taskbar
