Hi @livinginpast,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
1. Restart Printer, Computer, and Router
- Printer: Turn off the printer using the power button. Disconnect the power cord, wait 30 seconds, then reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
- Computer: Restart your computer.
- Router: Restart your router by unplugging it, waiting for 30 seconds, and plugging it back in.
2. Ensure Printer is Connected to the Wi-Fi Network
- On the printer control panel, navigate to the Wireless Settings:
- Touch the Wireless icon or go to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Settings.
- Select Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
3. Install HP Smart App
- Open a web browser on your computer and go to the HP Smart website.
- Download and install HP Smart.
4. Add Printer to HP Smart
- Open the newly installed HP Smart app.
- Click Add Printer or Set Up a New Printer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer. Make sure your printer is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
5. Check Printer Status in HP Smart
- After adding your printer, check the status in the HP Smart app. If it shows as offline, proceed with the next steps:
- Click the Settings icon on HP Smart.
- Select Network Setup and verify that the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
- If necessary, reconnect the printer to the Wi-Fi.
6. Update Printer Firmware
- Ensure the printer firmware is up to date:
- Open HP Smart.
- Click on your printer, then navigate to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Update Firmware.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to update the firmware.
I hope this helps.
