HP DeskJet 4258e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

I finally got my android  wifi direct to my new printer. Now it would be nice to connect my printer to my win7 32b computer, if there is a way to do it. I have the scanner running from my computer, but would also like to print. In the worst case, I can get most documents to my android. I am also trying to connect by usb, as an alternative.

I like win 7, have souped up.my computer with 2TB hard drive, lots of memory and dual OS., and have been a faithful HP printer user for 20 years. Now my favorite psc1110 finally died, and my deskjet 4480 isn't printing. I bought the deskjet 4258e and the scanner works fine on my win 7 and the printer and scanner work with the android after an hour with tech support. Tech support told me that I could not use wifi direct. I read the sheets that popped out of my printer saying the wifi direct was turned off and that it would work with android. I downloaded package for win 8 and got my scanner working, but not printer drivers. The tech support also told me that All printer companies were not supporting win 7 any longer.

A friend recommended Epson printers, so I looked at the drivers for the workforce and sure enough win 7 has drivers. So after wasting a night with my new printer, and tech support lying and only helping after I read the printed sheets to him, I will be packing up this printer, get my refund, and changing companies. Too bad when you have been faithful for over 20 years with computers and printers. 😔
