Hi @Lignumvitaes,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To find the driver for your HP Deskjet 2800e printer compatible with Windows 7, you can follow these steps.
- Official HP Website: Visit the official HP support website.
- Navigate to the Drivers and Downloads Section: Look for the support or drivers section on the HP website. You might need to navigate through a series of menus to find the exact page for your printer model.
- Enter Your Printer Model: Once you're on the appropriate page, enter your printer model (HP Deskjet 2800e) into the search or browse function.
- Select Your Operating System: Select Windows 7 as your operating system.
- Download the Driver: Look for the driver download specifically for Windows 7 and download it to your computer.
- Install the Driver: Once the download is complete, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.
If you're having trouble finding the driver on the HP website, you can also try using the Windows Update feature. Sometimes Windows Update can automatically detect and install the appropriate driver for your printer.
Additionally, you might want to check the compatibility of your printer with Windows 7 as newer printers might not have drivers available for older operating systems. If you're having trouble finding the driver, you could consider upgrading your operating system to a newer version that is supported by HP.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi, did you make it work? I just bought one like that and have the same problem and when I did what it says in answer (to find Windows 7), there is no windows 7 in options. It starts from Windows 8.
