OfficeJetPro 8710
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I first bought & powered up this printer, the touchscreen menu allowed me to set up the printer wirelessly to my house wi-fi router (using wifi password -> blue wifi light came on on printer). I then powered off the printer, moved it to another power socket in the house (and in range of wifi router) and switched printer on again. The blue wifi light was off on printer front panel and message "This feature has been disabled. Contact the person who set up this device" displayed when I press the wifi button. The LCD touchscreen menu does not give any wireless set up options (I even tried Restore Factory Defaults' in the Settings/Printer Maintenance option but no change).

How can I reactivate wireless working of my printer?

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

I understand that you have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printer. I read that the printer is unable to be setup wirelessly. The blue wifi light is off and when you try to enable it, a message appears saying "This feature has been disabled. Contact the person who set up this device. Contact the person who set up this device". I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job. Not to worry, I'll do my best to help you.

I suggest you to reset the printer to its factory settings. The printer will complete restore to its original factory condition. This should take care of the issue.

I have sent you a private message with the steps to reset the printer.

I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Let me know. All the best!
