Envy 4520
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Recently my Envy 4520 stopped printing 2 sided automatically. I'm now require to fed the 2nd side manually. I'm printing Word and pdf documents.

I have uninstalled the printer using Windows 10 settings, and re-installed. I have ensured that the printer settings are correct for 2 sided at the time of printing, and the printer will print 2 sided, but not without a manual fed of the 2nd page.

Any advice is appreciated.

@Toronto_Cat

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

  • 1) Right-click on printer, select printer properties.
  • 2) Select the Device settings tab.
  • 3) Ensure that the duplex unit is set to Installed rather than Not installed.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware. Refer to this document for steps - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
