@Baker11, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding "Offline" Status for HP DeskJet 4200 All-in-One Printer Series!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you're facing issues with your HP DeskJet 4200 printer showing "Offline" status, here are the steps you can follow to resolve this problem:

Verify Printer Connection

Ensure Network Connectivity: Make sure the printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network. You can do this using the HP Smart App or by checking the Wi-Fi status on the printer's control panel.

Restart Devices: Power off the printer and computer, and restart your router to refresh network connections.

Update Printer Firmware

Check for Latest Firmware: Visit the HP Support website and download any available firmware updates for your printer model.

Run Firmware Update: Follow the instructions to install the update using the firmware update utility provided by HP.

Set Printer Status to "Online"

  • On your computer, go to "Devices and Printers" in the Control Panel.
  • Right-click your printer’s icon, and select "See what's printing."
  • In the window that opens, click the "Printer" menu and ensure the "Use Printer Offline" option isn't checked. If it is, click to uncheck it.

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool, which can diagnose and fix various printing and connectivity issues. Follow the instructions on the tool to perform the troubleshooting process.

Reset Network Settings

  • If the issue persists, reset your printer's network settings. You may need to reconnect the printer to your network afterwards.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
