Hi @mgo3,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing an E1 error code with your HP printer. The E1 error code typically indicates a paper jam or a paper-related issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Open all the access doors and trays of the printer.
  • Carefully inspect the entire paper path for any jammed paper. Even a small piece of paper can cause issues.

Clear Paper Path:

  • Make sure there are no obstructions along the paper path.
  • Ensure that the paper is loaded correctly in the input tray.

Check Sensors:

  • Inspect the sensors in the paper path to ensure they are clean and free from any debris.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Update Firmware:

  • Visit the official HP support website and check if there is any firmware update available for your printer model. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve known issues.

Paper Settings:

  • Double-check that the paper settings in both the printer settings on your computer and the physical settings on the printer match the type and size of paper you are using (e.g., letter size).

Use High-Quality Paper:

  • Ensure that you are using high-quality and correctly sized paper. Low-quality or incorrectly sized paper can lead to feed issues.

Inspect Rollers:

  • Check the rollers for any debris or damage. Clean them if necessary.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
