@puzzle9,

Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Ensure your WiFi is working and the printer is within range.

Restart Printer: Turn the printer off, wait 10-15 seconds, and turn it back on.

Reset Network Settings: Press and hold the Wi-Fi button and the cancel button for 15 seconds to reset the network settings.

Use HP Smart App: Open the HP Smart App and follow the instructions to connect the printer to WiFi.

Check Connection: Once connected, the WiFi light should stop flashing and stay solid.

Check Printer's IP: Print a Network Configuration Page to make sure the printer has a valid IP address.

Update Firmware: update the printer firmware through the HP Smart App.

I hope these steps help resolve the issue

This model of printer
Will it automatically connect to the last wifi after power failure and restart

@puzzle9

Thank you for your response

For most printers, if they were previously connected to a Wi-Fi network and there has been no change to the network settings, they should automatically reconnect to the last used Wi-Fi network after a power failure and restart.

However, a few factors might affect this:

  1. Network Settings: If the network SSID or password has been changed, the printer will not be able to reconnect automatically and may require you to reconfigure the Wi-Fi connection.
  2. Firmware Updates: Make sure that your printer's firmware is up to date, as certain bugs related to Wi-Fi reconnection may be resolved in the updates

I hope this helps.

@puzzle9,

I apologize for any misunderstanding earlier!

Even after a power outage, your printer should typically reconnect to the Wi-Fi automatically, provided the network settings haven't been altered or disrupted. However, if the issue persists, it might be a hardware problem.

In this case, I recommend reaching out to our phone support team for further assistance. They'll work with you one-on-one to get the issue sorted, possibly with some remote assistance magic.

I will be sharing the details in private. Feel free to contact them, and they’ll be able to assist you further!

Please note that there will be a nominal charge for the service they provide.
