Hi @MICHAEL2030,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand that you are using an HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 over USB in a hotel room without an internet connection, but the printer is refusing to print and displays a message requiring an internet connection for HP Instant Ink.
If the printer is enrolled in HP Instant Ink, an active internet connection is required for the Instant Ink Web Services to function. HP also notes that using the printer with a USB-only connection can temporarily limit printing until the internet connection is restored.
Since the hotel does not provide internet access, could you please confirm:
- Is the printer currently enrolled in HP Instant Ink?
- Are you using Instant Ink cartridges, or regular Original HP cartridges?
- Does the printer show the exact message “Connect to the internet to continue printing with HP Instant Ink cartridges," or is the wording different?
If it is using Instant Ink cartridges, the immediate workaround would be to connect the printer to a network with internet access. Once the printer can
To communicate with HP's services, printing should be able to resume if the Instant Ink account and cartridges are otherwise in good standing.
Best regards,
Kuroi_Kenshi
