@MD194, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Check Wi-Fi Connection
Ensure the printer has a stable Wi-Fi connection. Move it closer to your router if necessary.
A weak or unstable connection can cause the print job to fail.
Test with USB
If possible, connect the printer directly to your computer with a USB cable and print the full document.
This checks if the issue is related to wireless printing.
Update Printer Drivers
Make sure your printer driver is up to date. You can download the latest drivers from HP’s website.
Outdated drivers can cause issues with printing.
Run HP Smart:
- Download and run the HP Smart. Follow the prompts to diagnose and fix common printing issues.
- Refer: Use Diagnose & Fix in HP Smart to repair common printing issues (Windows, macOS) | HP® Support
Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)
- Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hey @MD194,
Thank you for your response and clarification.
It sounds like the issue might be more about the wireless printing connection between your phone and the printer, rather than drivers on the phone.
Here’s what I’d recommend:
Reinstall or Update the HP Smart App
If you don’t have the latest version of the app, it’s a good idea to either update or reinstall it. This can fix any app-related bugs that might be affecting the printing process.
Ensure Printer and Phone are on the Same Wi-Fi Network
Check that both your phone and the printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. If they’re on different networks (e.g., your phone on mobile data and the printer on Wi-Fi), wireless printing won’t work properly.
Try HP Smart for Troubleshooting
Open the HP Smart app, and see if it offers any suggestions for troubleshooting or diagnosing the issue. It might point out things like connection problems or offer an update for the printer’s settings.
Check the Printer's network settings.
From your phone, you can also check the printer’s connection status through the app. Make sure the printer is properly connected to the Wi-Fi.
Test with a Smaller Document
Sometimes, long documents might cause wireless issues if there’s interference or instability in the connection. Try printing a shorter document to see if it prints correctly. This will help isolate whether the issue is with the document size or the connection itself.
I hope this helps.
