Common problems for Connectivity Issues

I have a M118dw and trying to add to WiFi.  Smart App can't find printer

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

 

Try these troubleshooting steps:

Reset Network Settings

  • On the printer, press and hold the Wireless & Cancel buttons for 5 seconds until the WiFi light blinks.
  • This resets the network settings.

Reconnect the Printer to WiFi

  • Press the Wireless button until it starts blinking.
  • On your PC or phone, go to WiFi settings and connect to the printer’s direct WiFi (it will be named HP-Setup-XXXX).
  • Open a web browser and type 192.168.223.1 in the address bar.
  • Select Network → Wireless Setup Wizard and connect the printer to your home WiFi.

Add the Printer to HP Smart App

  • Restart your WiFi router and PC.
  • Open the HP Smart App, click Add Printer, and follow the instructions.

Manually Add the Printer on Windows

  • Go to Control Panel → Devices and Printers → Add a Printer.
  • Choose Add a Network Printer and select the HP M118dw.

If the issue persists, try connecting via USB first, then convert it to WiFi using the HP Smart App.
