Hi @solevam,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you've done a partial reset on your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M428fdw and can't get into the admin settings with the usual passwords, you might need to try a few things.

Default Passwords: The default admin password is sometimes set to admin or 123456. However, since you’ve tried admin already, it’s worth trying 123456 or 000000.

Network Configuration:

  • Print a Configuration Page: On the printer, you can print a configuration page which might include details about the default admin password.
  • Web Interface: If you can access the printer’s IP address via a web browser, it might prompt you for a login. Try the default credentials there.

Factory Reset:

  • If a partial reset didn’t work, you might need to perform a full factory reset. To do this, go to the printer’s control panel and navigate to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Settings. This will revert all settings to their defaults.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Is it possible for you guys to reset the username and password for me if the full factory reset still doesn't solve the problem?
