My HP laser printer 1217 nfw MFG  lost WIFI connection after I changed to Xfinity  modem/router . The troubleshooting  message from wireless network test report is ...  " your wireless router requires a WPA security passphrase. The passphrase configured on your HP printer does not match exactly . Run the wireless set up to re-enter your wireless network WPA security passphrase".  My question is how to "Run the wireless set up to re-enter your wireless network WPA security passphrase".  " ???  My printer touch screen does not have a place to re-enter wireless WPA passphrase. I have tried to change modem WPA3 to match printer WPA2/WPA , but still no WiFi connection. Any helps? Would be very appreciated .

Hi @SX1222,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

If your HP LaserJet 1217nfw printer lost its Wi-Fi connection after changing to a new modem or router, you will need to reconfigure its wireless settings. This usually involves running the Wireless Setup to update the network information on the printer.

Access the Printer's Control Panel:

  • Make sure your printer is powered on.
  • Navigate to the control panel on the printer.

Select Wireless Setup Wizard:

  • On the printer's control panel, locate the network or wireless settings menu.
  • Choose the "Wireless Setup Wizard" option.

Search for Your Network:

  • The Wireless Setup Wizard will detect available networks.
  • Select your network (SSID) from the list.

Enter the WPA Passphrase:

  • When prompted, enter the WPA security passphrase for your network. It is important that it matches exactly with the router’s passphrase, including correct case sensitivity and any special characters.

Confirm and Complete Setup:

  • Follow any additional on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
  • Once configured, your printer should reconnect to your wireless network.

Test the Connection:

  • Print a test page or run a network configuration page to ensure that the printer is connected to the correct network.

Take care and have an amazing day!
