My HP printer is connected by ethernet to my home network. I use apple ipad and iphone products and have been able to print using AirPrint for years with no problem. Within the last week, I can no longer print from my iphone or ipad to the HP printer. I get the message , "No AirPrint Printers Found." I was able to disconnect the printer from the ethernet, and set it up wirelessly to our network and test report from printer says it works, but I can't get Airprint to work. Nothing has changed in my home network that I'm aware of... Separately, if I pick the printer from ioS in the wifi settings, add the printer passcode, I can connect to the printer and print. But I've never had to connect directly to the printer itself to print. Please help.

Hi @eb1of9 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you
It sounds like there may be an issue with how the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw is being detected over your home network for AirPrint, especially since it was previously working fine. Below are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check Printer and iOS Device Connection
- Ensure the Printer and iOS Devices Are on the Same Network: Since you've reconnected the printer via WiFi, confirm that both the printer and your iPhone/iPad are connected to the same WiFi network (not a guest network or a different band, such as 5GHz for one and 2.4GHz for the other).
- Reboot Network Devices: Try restarting your router, printer, and iOS devices. Network conflicts or cached data can sometimes cause communication issues.
2. Update Firmware and Software Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Update Printer Firmware: Make sure your HP printer firmware is up-to-date. You can check for updates through the printer’s settings menu or on the HP website.
- Update iOS Devices: Ensure your iPhone/iPad are running the latest version of iOS.
3. Disable and Re-enable AirPrint
- Disable AirPrint: Access the printer’s embedded web server (EWS) by typing the printer’s IP address into a web browser. Then go to the Network or Advanced settings and disable AirPrint.
- Re-enable AirPrint: After a few minutes, re-enable AirPrint and check if your iOS devices detect the printer.
4. Check for Network Issues
- Restart Bonjour Service: AirPrint relies on the Bonjour service to discover printers. If Bonjour is failing on your network, AirPrint won’t work. Restarting your router can help resolve this. If your router has specific settings for multicast or Bonjour, make sure those are enabled.
- IP Conflict: Assign a static IP address to your printer. You can do this via the EWS or router settings to avoid IP conflicts.
5. Test AirPrint in Different Configurations
- Ethernet vs WiFi: Since your printer was connected via Ethernet initially and worked fine for years, reconnect it via Ethernet and see if AirPrint starts working again. Some users report better reliability with wired connections, even though WiFi works.
- WiFi Direct: If your printer supports WiFi Direct, make sure this feature is not accidentally interfering with the regular network connection.
6. Remove and Re-add Printer on iOS
- Forget Printer from iOS Devices: If you manually connected the printer on your iPhone/iPad, forget this connection in the WiFi settings. Then reboot the device and check if AirPrint finds the printer automatically as before.
7. Check Security Settings
- Firewall or Router Settings: Check your router’s firewall or security settings to ensure that communication between devices and the printer is not being blocked.

I hope this helps.
