HP OfficeJet 8015e All-in-One Printer

I don't currently have WiFi and I needed to know if I can print without it and if so, how do I do that?  I am extremely "technology dumb" so I need help for a layman, so to speak.  Yes, I did google it and it said I could print using Bluetooth.  So, after trying to follow the instructions for setup, I couldn't find the Bluetooth thingy on my printer.  I am BEYOND frustrated.  HELP!!  PLEASE!!!!

Hi @lhiggo9105,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the HP OfficeJet 8015e All-in-One Printer does not support Bluetooth printing. Instead, it mainly relies on WiFi for wireless printing. However, if you don't have WiFi, there are still some ways you can print:

Option 1: USB Cable Connection

You can print directly from your computer using a USB cable. Most printers, including the OfficeJet 8015e, can be connected via USB to your computer, which allows you to print without needing WiFi.

Steps:

Get a USB cable: Make sure you have a USB Type A to B printer cable (one side will fit your computer’s USB port, and the other side fits into the printer).

Connect the printer to your computer:

  • Plug one end of the USB cable into the printer and the other end into your computer.

Install the printer software:

  • If you haven’t done this before, your computer may automatically detect the printer and install drivers for it. If not, you can download the drivers from the HP website:
    • HP OfficeJet 8015e Drivers and Software
  • Install the driver and follow the on-screen instructions.

Start printing: Once installed, you should be able to print directly from your computer.

Option 2: Wi-Fi Direct HP printer setup (Wi-Fi Direct)

If you don’t have WiFi but want wireless printing, your printer has a feature called Wi-Fi Direct. This lets you print from your phone or computer without a router.

Steps to use Wi-Fi Direct:

Enable Wi-Fi Direct on the printer:

  • On your printer, go to the control panel and look for Wi-Fi Direct.
  • Turn it on. You’ll usually find this under Network Settings or Wireless Settings.

Connect your device to the printer:

  • On your phone or computer, go to the Wi-Fi settings and look for the Wi-Fi Direct network name for your printer. It will be something like HP-Print-XX-OfficeJet 8015e.
  • Connect to that network. You might need to enter a password, which is shown on the printer’s display.

Print:

  • Once connected, you can print from your phone or computer by selecting the OfficeJet 8015e as the printer.

Option 3: Print from Mobile with USB OTG Cable

If you want to print from a mobile device but don't have Wi-Fi, you can use a USB OTG cable (a special cable that allows you to connect USB devices like a printer to your phone).

Steps:

Buy a USB OTG cable: You’ll need a cable that matches your phone (usually Micro USB or USB-C) and connects to the USB cable from your printer.

Install the HP Smart app: Make sure you have the HP Smart app installed on your mobile device.

Connect the printer: Connect your phone to the printer using the OTG cable.

Print: Open the HP Smart app and follow the steps to print your documents.

Refer to this document: HP OfficeJet 8015e All-in-One Printer User manual

Ref User manual  Please do Ctrl+F and search for Bluetooth and keep hitting enter to change and you will get the details.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
