My current JetDirect NIC only has available speed of 100MB. I would like to change the NIC to allow the use of 1GB speed but the menu system does not offer this option. Is this possible and if so, what would I need to accomplish this?
This form will not accept my Serial Number for some reason, just keeps asking for a valid one!?
The following was extracted from the printer configuration web page...
- Serial Number: [Personal Information Removed]
- Printer Model Number: Q5402A
- Service ID: 15163
Thank you.

Not 100% sure, but it will probably work as wired and wireless at the same time.

Thank you for your reply. Sorry to be a pain, I apologise for my ignorance on this matter.
So, I am currently using the Formatter Board RJ-45 connection identified by the RED box, and I now see is marked with "100" - that obviously explains why I am only getting a maximum "100TX FULL" option on the printer menu ... Doh!
Would I be correct saying that if I source an HP JetDirect 635N or even a HP JetDirect 640N card, I would then just need to insert it in the currently blanked-off slot identified by the YELLOW box and then use that RJ-45 connection?
Would the printer then automatically detect the new card and offer me the "1000TX FULL" option on the printer menu?
Formatter Board connections.
Thank you again for your prompt attention. It is very much appreciated.

Yes, you need to remove the 2 screws ( yellow box) and insert HP jet direct card 635 or 640 .
The printer will detect card and you will have 2 networks, you will be able to enter the Jetdirect card menu from the printers panel buttons and change settings on the printers screen.

Thank you for your advice, I will source a card.
If I may, can I ask one last question? If I get a 640n card, will that allow WiFi access to the printer? The 640n cards also seem to be less expensive than the 635n cards at the moment.
Thanks again for your help.

635N is the best and most reliable jetdirect card.
If you want a wireless too then you need to buy additional HP Jetdirect 2700W and plug it in HP 940N. You can also get it in a bundle then it's 695N 😁

Thank you Valsimot. 👍🏼
I have followed the link you supplied for the 695n/2700w solution. If I was to go down that route, would it allow concurrent LAN and WiFi access or are they mutually exclusive I.e. LAN or WiFi, NOT both at the same time?
Thank you. 🙂
