I recently changed Internet service to AT&T. The printer is requesting a PIN number from the router. There is no PIN number and right now I'm frustrated!

HI @WilliamC3,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To connect your HP printer to your new AT&T wireless network, you typically need to provide the network's SSID (network name) and the password. Here are some steps to help you connect your printer to the new wireless network without needing a PIN:

1. Locate Network Information

  1. SSID and Password: Ensure you have your new AT&T wireless network name (SSID) and password. This information is usually found on the back of your router or in the documentation provided by AT&T.

2. Connect the Printer Using HP Smart App

Download HP Smart: If you haven't already, download the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer. It’s available on the App Store, Google Play, and the HP website.

Open HP Smart: Launch the HP Smart app and follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer.

Set Up Wireless:

  • In the HP Smart app, click on the "+" to add a new printer.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to select your printer model.
  • When prompted, enter your new AT&T Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.

3. Connect Using the Printer Control Panel

Navigate to Wireless Setup:

  • On the printer control panel, go to the “Network” or “Wireless” settings menu.
  • Select “Wireless Setup Wizard” (the wording may vary depending on your printer model).

Select Your Network:

  • The printer will search for available networks. Select your new AT&T Wi-Fi network from the list.

Enter Network Password:

  • Enter the password for your new AT&T Wi-Fi network when prompted.

4. Using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)

WPS Button: Check if your AT&T router and your HP printer support WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup). This allows you to connect without entering a password.

Activate WPS on Router:

  • Press the WPS button on your AT&T router.

Activate WPS on Printer:

  • On the printer control panel, go to the “Network” or “Wireless” settings.
  • Select “WPS” and follow the prompts to connect.

Reset Network Settings on Printer

If the printer is still not connecting, try resetting the network settings on the printer:

Reset Network Settings:

  • On the printer control panel, navigate to “Network” or “Wireless” settings.
  • Look for an option like “Restore Network Settings” or “Reset Network Settings.”

Reconfigure Network Settings:

  • After resetting, follow the steps above to connect the printer to the new wireless network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
