Hi @VickyJ73,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Use the WPS Settings

If your printer and access point (or wireless router) support Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), follow these steps:

  • Ensure your printer and access point/router support WPS.
    • Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer control panel for at least 3 seconds, and then release it.
    • Within 2 minutes, press the WPS (PBC) button on your access point/router.
    • The printer will start connecting to the wireless network. When connected, the LED light on the printer will stay on.
    • Continue to install the printer software.

Setup Using Windows

If you are using a Windows computer, you can set up the connection using a USB cable or an access point:

Setup via USB Cable:

  • Access point
  • Network-connected computer
  • USB cable
  • Download software packages from the HP website.
    • Ensure the USB cable is connected between the printer and the computer
    • Turn on your computer, access point, and printer.
    • Download the printer driver software from HP's support website.
    • Unzip the driver package and run the installer.
    • Review and accept the installation agreements, then click Next.
    • Select Wireless on the Printer Connection Type screen, then click Next.
    • If setting up for the first time, select Yes, I will set up my printer’s wireless network and click Next.
    • Select Using a USB cable on the Select the Wireless Setup Method screen, then click Next.
    • Choose the wireless network (SSID) and complete the setup.

Setup using Access Point (without USB Cable):

  • Wi-Fi-enabled PC running Windows 7 or higher, and an access point (router).
  • Download software packages from the HP website.
    • Choose Using a direct wireless connection on the Select the Wireless Setup Method screen, then click Next.
    • Complete the network setup.

I hope this helps.
