My coworker gave me her printer that’s a HP DeskJet 2652 so my son can use it. I’m trying to set it up wirelessly but it’s not finding the printer on the app. My WiFi connection is working because my phone and laptop are online (connected) but I’m not sure why I’m having a hard time connecting the printer to it. I already looked at the video to set up but it’s not working for me. Since my coworker already set it up when she bought it a few years ago will I not be able to set it up? I’m not tech savvy so I’m having difficulty figuring it out.

Hi @Cbush19 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing a wifi issue with your HP DeskJet 2652 All-in-One Printer Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
You should be able to set up the HP DeskJet 2652 on your WiFi network, even if it was set up by someone else previously.
Here are some steps to help get the printer connected to your WiFi:
1. Reset the Printer's Network Settings
Since the printer was previously connected to a different network, it may still have old network settings stored.
- Power on the printer.
- Press and hold the Wireless button (the icon looks like a small radio tower) and the Cancel button at the same time until the Power light blinks. This will reset the printer’s network settings.
2. Reconnect the Printer Using HP Smart App HP printer setup (HP Smart app)
- Download and open the HP Smart app on your phone or computer (if you haven't already).
- Make sure your device (phone/computer) is connected to the same WiFi network you want the printer to connect to.
- In the HP Smart app, tap Add Printer and select Set Up a New Printer. The app should now detect the DeskJet 2652.
- Follow the instructions in the HP Smart app to connect your printer to WiFi. It may prompt you to enter your WiFi password during the setup.
3. Use Wi-Fi Direct (If Standard WiFi Setup Doesn’t Work)
If you’re still having trouble, you can connect using Wi-Fi Direct as a workaround:
- On the printer, press the Wi-Fi Direct button (an icon with a small antenna and two direct lines).
- Open the Wi-Fi settings on your device, look for a network named HP-Setup-DeskJet 2652 or something similar, and connect to it.
- After connecting, go back to the HP Smart app and add the printer using Wi-Fi Direct.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
