I can't connect my HP Deskjet 3630 printer to my network. The printer is about 9 years old. I replaced my router with a Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6E router. Does my printer support this 6 GHz Wi-Fi? Please respond. I can't print. Thank you. Richard Stilson [edited]

@Rdswhip1, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Your HP DeskJet 3630 printer does not support the 6 GHz band used by Wi-Fi 6E routers. It is only compatible with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks (802.11b/g/n).

Since your new Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6E router includes 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands, here’s what you can do to connect your printer:

Steps to Connect Your Printer:

  1. Enable the 2.4 GHz band on your router (if it’s not already active).
  2. Give the 2.4 GHz network a unique SSID (network name)—different from the 5 GHz and 6 GHz ones. This helps the printer find the correct network.
  3. On the printer, reset the Wi-Fi settings:
    • Press and hold the Wi-Fi and Cancel buttons together until the Power light blinks.
    • This puts the printer into Wi-Fi setup mode.
  4. Use the HP Smart app on your phone or PC to reconnect the printer to the 2.4 GHz network.

I hope this helps.
