Hi @YanGrimes,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with the WPS connection. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Steps to Connect Using WPS
Check WPS Compatibility:
- Ensure both your printer and modem/router support WPS. Look for the WPS logo on the devices.
Reset the Printer's Network Settings:
- On the printer, navigate to the network settings and reset them to default. This can often resolve connection issues.
Try WPS Method:
- Press the WPS Button on the Router: Locate the WPS button on your modem/router and press it.
- Press the WPS Button on the Printer: Within a minute, press the WPS button on the printer or select the WPS option in the printer's menu.
Check the Printer Display:
- Watch for a confirmation message on the printer’s display that indicates it has successfully connected to the network.
Troubleshooting Tips
- Distance from Router: Make sure the printer is within range of the router. If it’s too far away, it might struggle to connect.
- Reboot Devices: Restart both the printer and the modem/router to refresh the network settings.
Alternative Connection Methods
If WPS continues to fail, consider using one of these methods:
Manual Wi-Fi Setup:
- Use the printer’s control panel to select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password manually.
USB Connection:
- Temporarily connect the printer to your computer via USB to set it up, then switch to wireless later if needed.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
