Hi there,
I'm having trouble connecting to the wi-fi from both my Macbook Pro and my IPhone 11, using the HP Smart App. I have tried resetting my router, resetting all devices (printer, laptop and phone) and have tried restoring the wi-fi setup. However, when I follow the steps of restoring the wi-fi set up on the printer, when holding both the cancel and wi-fi button down for 5+ seconds, the power button does not flash, meaning its not in set up mode!
Please can someone help, I have so much uni work to do!
Thank you!

Hi @phoebeepboop,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I understand that you are unable to connect to your wifi. I'd like to help!
Please follow the steps below.
please go ahead and uninstall the HP Smart app from your MAC PC.
Steps to uninstall HP Smart and reinstall:
- Click Finder
, and then click Applications. In the list of apps, click and drag the HP Smart app to the Trash at the end of the dock.
- Go ahead and Update the software on Mac
- Restart PC
- Once the PC is turned back and idle, download HP Smart
- Once installed, check if you are able to access the app.
Update the printer firmware
- Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your product
- Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.
Add the printer using Apple AirPrint drivers.
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign
to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button
at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign
click Add Printer or Scanner, and click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, and select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
6.) Try to print.
For iOS
Print with AirPrint
- Open the app that you want to print from.
- To find the print option, tap the app’s share icon —
or
— or tap
- Scroll down and tap
or Print. If you can’t find the print option, check the app’s User Guide or Help section. Not all apps support AirPrint.
- Tap Select Printer and choose an AirPrint-enabled printer.
- Choose the number of copies or other options, like which pages you want to print.
- Tap Print in the upper-right corner.
