My mom just bought an HP Smart Tank 7001. When trying to connect to wifi, the printer is not listed in the HP Smart app. We are trying to factory reset it, but it won't factory reset. Per instructions, we opened the lid, held down the information button until all lights light up, held down cancel and wifi. The screen shows the loading icon, but after that the wifi button is supposed to light up, but it does not. How can we resolve this and factory reset the printer?

Hi @FettsVette,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Smart Tank 7001. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
Let's perform a power drain:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle
Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on the printer:
- Use the buttons on the printer control panel to restore Wi-Fi setup mode.
- Press any button on the printer control panel to put it in a ready state.
- Press and hold the Information button
for five seconds until the control panel buttons light.
- Press and hold the Wireless button
and the Cancel button
for five seconds until the Wi-Fi light blinks blue.
- Once you restore the network to defaults, then please follow the instructions on this link to connect the printer back to your PC.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
