HP ENVY 6052e All-in-One Printer
iOS

I changed my internet provider and am trying to reconnect my envy 6052e to the new router’s WiFi.

1. I have pressed the WiFi button at the back of printer and the WiFi logo is flashing and the front of the printer has the purple light indicating it is in setup mode. So far so good.

2. When I go onto my HP app on my iPhone and follow the prompt to add new printer, it can’t find my printer.

3.  I follow the instructions further to select the HP-setup… WiFi network successfully and it tries to search for my printer to add unit cannot find it and gives me the message that there is a”Weak Bluetooth Connection” however my printer is inched from the router and so is my phone.

4.  I’ve tried to reset the printer by having the printer cartridge bay door open and long pressing the wifi button and power button at the back of printer but that did not have any effect.

5.  I’ve tried removing my printer from my account and add it back but run into the same problem above where it can’t be found.

6. My new router appears to be fine since I have connected other devices to the WiFi smoothly and seemlessly.

Any insight or suggestions are welcomed.  Thanks🙏

Hi @Wai01,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're encountering a frustrating issue with reconnecting your HP Envy 6052e printer to your new Wi-Fi network. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Check Printer Compatibility

Ensure that your printer is compatible with the new router's Wi-Fi settings (e.g., WPA3 security). If the router uses WPA3, consider changing it to WPA2 in the router settings.

2. Reset Network Settings on Printer

Try resetting the network settings on your printer:

  • Turn on the printer.
  • Press and hold the Wi-Fi and Cancel buttons simultaneously for about 5 seconds. This should reset the network settings.
  • Then, press the Wi-Fi button again to put it in setup mode (the purple light should flash).

3. Use WPS to Connect

If your new router supports WPS:

  • Press the WPS button on your router.
  • Within two minutes, press the Wi-Fi button on the printer. This may help establish a connection without needing the app.

4. Direct Connection via HP Smart App

  1. Make sure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you want the printer to connect to.
  2. Open the HP Smart app and try adding the printer again. Sometimes restarting the app or the phone can help.

5. Firmware Update

If you're able to connect the printer to your network but still having issues, check for any firmware updates for the printer using the HP Smart app or through the printer's control panel.

6. Reboot Devices

  • Power cycle your printer, router, and phone. Sometimes, simply rebooting can resolve connection issues.

7. Check Bluetooth Settings

Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your iPhone, and try moving the phone closer to the printer while adding it in the app.

8. Firewall Settings

Check your router's firewall settings to ensure it's not blocking the printer.

9. Manual Setup

If all else fails, you can try setting up the printer manually via the printer's control panel:

  • Go to the printer's Settings > Network > Wireless Setup Wizard, and follow the prompts to select your new Wi-Fi network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
