HP Color LaserJet MFP M281fdw
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hi,

When I try to print documents over 1-2 pages wirelessly my printer will begin to print for a second (Screen says "printing" and makes a whirring noise) and then will stop without printing or displaying any error message.

I have tried:

1. Checking for printer updates

2. Rebooting printer (With button and at at the wall) - This makes issue go away temporarily (1/2 prints) but then returns.

3. Using different devices (Windows + Mac + Android + iPhone)

4. Connecting printer via Ethernet instead of WiFi

5. Restoring printer to factory settings

When I use HP Smart diagnostics on my Mac it says "Print queue issue is not fixed".

Any help will be appreciated!

Thanks

If anyone has the same issue, I seem to have managed to fix it.

Instead of updating the software on the printer itself, which shows that the printer is up to date - update the firmware using the "Firmware Update Utility" which can be downloaded from the "Software and Drivers" page here:
