Hi @Flying4x4,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I understand how frustrating it can be when you can't connect your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3301fdw to Wi-Fi due to a password issue. Let’s work through this together.

  • Have you recently changed your Wi-Fi password or network settings?
  • Are you attempting to connect the printer to a secured network, and do you have the correct Wi-Fi password for that network?
  • Is this the first time you're trying to connect the printer to Wi-Fi, or has it connected successfully in the past?

Let's try these steps.

Check the Default Administrator Password

  • If you're being prompted for a device administrator password, it's possible that the printer's network settings were reset or changed. The default administrator password is often found in the printer's manual or on a sticker on the printer itself. Common default passwords are "admin" or "1234". Try those first.

Reset Network Settings on the Printer

  • To reset the printer’s network settings, go to the printer's control panel. Look for Setup or Network Settings, and choose the option to Restore Network Defaults. This will clear any previous configurations and allow you to set up the Wi-Fi connection anew.

Update the Printer’s Firmware

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can do this by accessing the printer’s settings through the control panel and checking for any available updates. An outdated firmware might cause connectivity issues.

Use HP Smart App for Wi-Fi Setup

  • If you're still having trouble, consider using the HP Smart app. Download the app on your mobile device, and it can help you connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network more easily. Follow the in-app instructions for adding a new printer.

Manual Wi-Fi Connection Setup

  • If none of the above steps work, try connecting the printer to your Wi-Fi network manually. From the printer’s control panel, navigate to Wireless settings, select Wi-Fi Setup Wizard, and follow the prompts to select your network and enter the Wi-Fi password.
