HP Officejet Pro 8100 ePrinter - N811a/N811d
Microsoft Windows 11

Spectrum just bought out my internet provider Astrea.  They sent me the Spectrum Wifi 6 router.   I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8100 that won't connect because it says it needs to connect to 2.4 GHz.  Tried to talk to Spectrum support but was told to contact HP.  Not happy with the changeover so far!

The issue is that likely the router is trying to communicate with the printer on a 5Ghz band, which as you now know is not supported. You need to find a way to provide access to the 2.4Ghz channel of the router, which is usually accomplished by giving the 2.4Ghz radio a unique SSID and only allow the printer to connect to that SSID. You internet provider should provide either support or a document on how that is done with your equipment. This is not an issue with your printer and the internet provider is simply offloading or does not know how to do it.
