Product: HP OfficeJet Pro 7720 Wide Format All-in-One Printer

Good Day,

This morning I brought my printer out of standby to scan a document.  As the printer woke up, I was offered a firmware upgrade, so I selected yes.  However, when the printer completed this process, it was no longer connected to the Wifi from my Netgear Nighthawk router.

I have tried everything to restore this connection; manual password entry, WPS, printer power cycle and router reboot; nothing works.

How do I get this printer back on line, bearing in mind that the Printer homepage is denied to me?

Replying to myself; I managed  to run an Ethernet cable to the printer and was a able to log in via a browser.  From there I went to the WiFi setup page, entered the WiFi credentials and bingo! everything worked... ?

 

I still don't understand why entering the exact same credentials using the printer touch screen wouldn't work, still less why WPS failed, but at least it's working again.
