Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

We have a Telstra Smart Modem Gen 4 connected to Starlink.  We used to use Optus wifi and had no problems connecting to the printer and the wifi.   Since connecting to the Telstra Modem I cannot get my OfficeJet Pro 8130e printer to connect to the internet.  It says it is connected but will not show on my MacAir or my Windows laptop and says not connected on HP Smart App.  I also cannot print from my iPhone or iPad or my husbands Samsung phone.  I have changed the Telstra Modem from WiFi 7 to WiFi 6 as this could have been causing problems.  I have tried everything - turned all devices off and back on numerous times and still no success.  Please help - this is driving me crazy!!!!

Switching to the Telstra Smart Modem Gen 4 often creates hidden local network blocks that prevent devices from "seeing" your HP printer. Because Telstra and Starlink use "Smart" Band Steering, your printer, phone, and laptops are likely stranded on slightly different network frequencies or IP subnets.

Hi - yes what you have said sounds exactly right.  I read that I should turn off band steering but then I changed from wifi 7 to wifi 6 and thought that might solve the problem.  I probably need to go into band steering and turn it off.  What a dilemma!!  I will try the band steering later as I have spent hours this morning trying to resolve this problem.  No one tells you when you purchase the modem of these problems!!! Thank you for your advice.
