HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Just got this printer today and set it all up. I am trying to connect my desktop to the printer but, it keeps saying failed. I followed all the steps, made sure WiFi Direct was turned on, connect via WiFi to the printer, then went into my computer settings to "Printers and Scanners". I clicked "add device" it shows "connecting" then says failed and tells me to make sure my printer is discoverable. I've made sure everything is on, but it refuses to connect.

Hi @Faalkred,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-In-One Printer cannot connect to WiFi Direct, there are several things you can try to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Check if your printer supports WiFi Direct: Make sure that your printer supports WiFi Direct. Not all printers have this feature, so check your printer's manual or specifications to see if it supports WiFi Direct.
  • Ensure your printer and device are within range: Make sure that your printer and device (computer, smartphone, tablet) are within range of each other. WiFi Direct has a limited range, so make sure that the distance between the printer and device is not too far.
  • Check that WiFi Direct is enabled on your printer: You may need to enable WiFi Direct on your printer before you can connect to it. To do this, go to your printer's settings and look for the WiFi Direct option. Make sure it is turned on.
  • Restart your printer and device: Sometimes, restarting your printer and device can help to resolve connectivity issues. Turn off your printer and device, wait a few seconds, and then turn them back on again.
  • Check your WiFi Direct settings on your device: Make sure that WiFi Direct is enabled on your device. If it is, try turning it off and on again to refresh the connection.
  • Reset your printer's network settings: If none of the above steps work, you may need to reset your printer's network settings. This will erase any saved WiFi connections, so you'll need to reconnect to your WiFi network after resetting. To reset your printer's network settings, go to the printer's settings and look for the option to reset network settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
